The vast majority of my practice since 1990 has been (and remains) devoted to Social Security Disability matters. My staff is well trained in only this field of law. This field of law requires that a practitioner have (or be willing to obtain) an in depth knowledge of a host of medical issues, as well as being adept at administrative law. The background in engineering has provided a knowledge base for myself so that I can utilize office technology to better prepare, track, and present cases. The heavy academic concentration in science and mathematics provided a foundation to better understand complex medical issues, which is generally the crux of most cases.
I provide representation at all administrative levels, and routinely file federal lawsuits on behalf of my clients.
I also provide representation for ERISA matters, including litigation. It is not uncommon for Long Term Disability Carriers to deny or terminate benefits. Much of what passes for ERISA litigation has little to do with an individual's single policy of disability. However, there is a subset of ERISA law that is narrowly focused on individual disability claims. If the record is properly developed within the confines of the law, plaintiffs can still prevail in federal arena again large insurers. My office provides representation at a variety of administrative levels for ERISA purposes.
